The Importance of Taking Action
Updated: Apr 17
I'm convinced that most people don't get involved because they don't think they can make a difference.
Who am I?
I'm just one person.
I could never do that.
We admire others without a thought that we are capable of doing those exact things ourselves. For the most part, the people we admire are no different than we are--well they are different in one way--they got up, started moving and never stopped.
If you want to make a difference in the world you must move and you must move now. Not tomorrow, not an hour from now...NOW.
Ask yourself what you can do now. You don't need a grand plan. You don't need to see the entire path. You just need to take each single step as it unfolds. People who make a difference in the world (i.e. you) do this by taking one step after another after another. It's not hard or daunting. It's always just one step.
Yes, it's true that sometimes you need to pull back until you see the next step clearly. But don't wait on wisdom too long. Always favor movement over inertia. If it's the wrong step, that will become clear quickly. Then you pivot, but you do not stop moving.
